The Allen Coral Atlas

The Allen Coral Atlas is the first globally consistent map of the world’s shallow tropical coral reefs, which significantly broadens the potential scale and scope of coral reef conservation efforts. Such consistency makes the Atlas an ideal tool for reporting conservation indicators and targets within and across regions, such as the forthcoming post-2020 targets from the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and UNEP’s Sustainable Development goals. Because it is open-access and provides an easy-to-use platform, the Atlas levels the playing field for coral reef practitioners around the world.
